AboutTwenty Years of B2B Sales, from the Field to Management
Mojtaba Dashti is a B2B sales development manager. I have worked in industrial sales and sales management for twenty years. Over that time I have been the manager responsible for sales growth at several companies. Today I help Iranian manufacturers and industrial companies find the right customers and run sales in a more organised way.
My path, from the field to management
I began in technical and operational roles: statistics, reporting and productivity. Then I moved into projects, tenders and contract negotiation, and that is where I got to know serious B2B. After that I set up my own distribution business and supported factories and workshops. Later I worked with transport and service organisations, construction projects, the capital market and investment advisory. Alongside this path I have also worked in the door and window hardware industry for twenty years.
Why this path is different
Most consultants know sales only from the outside, or know only one industry. I have been a salesperson, a sales manager and the owner of a distribution business. I know where a pro-forma invoice gets stuck, why a buyer stops answering, and when a discount does not solve the problem.
A recent example
At Iran Leather Connect 2026 (Yerevan, 5–6 September 2026), 15 Iranian companies took part as exhibitors and hosts, and more than 30 companies attended as visitors and guests.
How I work
I begin with the exact business question: what is being offered, to whom, in which market, under what constraints and for what decision. I then organise the available information, identify gaps and distinguish between what is known, what is assumed and what requires specialist confirmation.
The objective is not to produce an impressive general report. It is to make the next step clearer, smaller and more testable.
What this work does not claim
I do not present legal, tax, banking, customs or technical opinions as a substitute for licensed specialists. Where such matters affect the route, the relevant professional should be involved and their conclusion should become part of the commercial decision.
I also do not promise market entry, buyer acquisition or investment outcomes. A realistic route can improve the quality of a decision, but it cannot remove market risk.
Current professional context
My current activities include executive and commercial work connected with industrial supply and Satian, together with cross-border business development through Major Wave Investment and my independent professional work. These are parts of a wider professional path rather than a single job title.
The geographic focus is mainly Iran, Armenia, Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union, with selected routes involving Türkiye, Georgia, Iraq and Oman.
