When UAE & Dubai is worth examining
It is worth a closer look when your product can sell both to local buyers and to traders who re-distribute to neighbouring countries, when trade shows, trading companies or regular importers are already part of your sales route, and when you can follow up consistently: fast replies, samples and quotes in a foreign currency.
Risks and limitations
Strong competition from international suppliers, high sensitivity to price and payment terms, and the fact that many contacts made at a trade show never turn into orders.
Alternative route if the fit is weak
If you do not have the capacity for steady follow-up or a trade-show budget, compare Iraq, Oman or Armenia using the same criteria.
Common questions
Does Dubai mean the whole UAE?
No. Each emirate and each free zone has its own rules and its own buyers.
Can I start without an office in the UAE?
Sometimes, through an agent or a trading company. But the role and responsibility of each side must be clear first.
What if I do not attend trade shows?
More limited routes, such as direct contact with importers, are also possible. Cost and speed are different.
